Function Approximation with an Optimal Lookup Table
Learn how to use the lookup table optimization capability in Fixed-Point Designer™ to approximate a function with an optimal lookup table.
Say you are designing an algorithm for an FPGA and you have a mathematically complex function with operations such as sqrt or divide. Using lookup table optimization, you can replace it with a lookup table. You can also quickly generate a lookup table block in Simulink® or extract the table data to design a custom direct lookup table for your algorithm.
